Archiving incidents

FireHydrant allows you to archive incidents so they’re hidden from the UI and not counted in your analytics. You may want to archive incidents because:

  • you’ve been testing the FireHydrant platform and you may want to clear all incidents for a “fresh start” in your account>
  • you accidentally created an incident and you want to remove it so it’s not counted in your analytics

When you archive an incident, it is hidden from the FireHydrant UI and also from the analytics UI and API.

Note: Archived incidents cannot be un-archived.

How to archive incidents

There are a few ways to archive incidents:

Archiving incidents from the UI

  1. Navigate to the incident you wish to archive.
  2. Click the gear icon next to the incident name.
  3. Select Archive incident.

Archiving incidents with the API

You can archive incidents using our Archive an Incident API endpoint.

Archiving all incidents through a support request

If you have a large number of incidents to archive, the FireHydrant support and success team can help. Log a support ticket to have our team archive ALL incidents from your account.

Note: When archiving all incidents, the incident ID numbers do not reset to zero; they continue to increment.
